Lost and Found

I know the day will come
I know, and I fear it
I fear waking up knowing
that now, I walk alone.

When shadows thicken
darkness is me
moonlight is gone

How shall I live, then?

You, who were my compass
You, who steered me safe
You, who loved me better
You, who shone your light

How can I be, when you’re not?
How can I love without you?

I know. But it’s buried.
It’s ancient wisdom, stored away.

I shall find it inside myself
and know that nothing is ever lost.
